Just transition ( care transition and JET)

On the 20 August 2025 SCMAC member got invited by ground works on the african renewable workshop that took place in Durban on a discussion for just energy transition with organisation from Africa to share different experiences, building solidarity with african countries, also deepen conversations on gender inclusivity.

The next day we conducted a Toxic tour to the Clairewood community in Durban to witness how they use their solar panels and also do their water testing to advocate clean water in the area also to make sure that the ocean is not polluted the fish don’t die from the toxic water, the organization we visited used room top solar panels that support all the appliances in their office, they also have a gardening where they also save organic seed and store them to use them for year in a later stage.
